: Birth of Lord Rama
One of the brightest festivals of the Hindus is the festival of lights. It is celebrated all round the city with great pomp and fanfair. The houses and streets are lit with lights and diyas and bright fireworks and crackers light up the night sky. Goddess Lakshmi is offered flowers, sweets and other offerings. People visit the temples to take part in bhajans and prayers. People exchange sweets and greetings and it is the highest time for merriment in the city.
