Baisakhi is a major festival of Hindus and Sikhs, celebrated in North India during the harvest season. The tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh, is said to have founded the Sikh brotherhood (Khalsa) on this day.

Bala Festival

Once in every four year, the people of Kinnaur District celebrate a festival called Bala in the month of Baisakh. On this day, the old weapons belonging to the deities are brought out and cleaned.

Bala Sundari Fair is celebrated at Trilokpur, a place of great religious importance, situated near Nahan in Sirmaur District. It is the main attraction of the Trilokpur Temple dedicated to goddess Bala Sundari.

Bharmaur Jatra Fair

Bharmaur Jatra is a popular fair celebrated in Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh. It falls in the month of August. The fair begins on the day following Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna, and it lasts for six days.

Bhunda is held every 12th year in and around Nirmand in the Nurpur Valley of the Sutlej. It is celebrated in honor of Devi Ambika. The Bhunda is a ritualistic remnant of human sacrifice.

Kahika Fair

Kahika is an important fair whose story is related to the local deities. It is celebrated at Kullu valley of Himachal Pradesh and lasts for three days.

Lohadi Festival

Lohadi Festival, a significant festival of Himachal Pradesh, is celebrated at the end of the month of Pausha. Offerings are made to fire god and a part of the offerings is distributed among the participants. 

Tulsi Vivah

Tulsi Vivah is a famous festival related to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Tulsi. It is celebrated in many states of India including Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Goa.

Pulkhepa Festival

Pulkhepa is another form of Khepa festival, which is celebrated in the Kinnaur region of Himachal Pradesh. It is a festival for chasing demons. During this festival, the head of the goat and poltu, a sort of fried bread, are cooked.
